Mountains & Lakes of north central New Hampshire

Our latest tour takes us to the glorious Lakes Region of New
Hampshire. Outstanding views await us from the many small peaks
that surround sprawling Lake Winnipesaukee, with its numerous coves,
inlets, peninsulas and islands. Squam Lake and Golden Pond, (of movie
fame) are nearby and just to the north the famous White Mountains
provide a scenic backdrop.

Mountains such as, Belknap, Major and Gunstock sit tight along
these lakes and offer expansive views for a relatively modest amount
of effort! Just to the west, craggy Mount Cardigan, one of the most
visited mountains in the country has panoramic views in all directions.
A highlight of the trip is our visit to “Castle in the Clouds”, an unusual
mansion perched high in the hills above Lake Winnipesaukee. Twenty
miles of carriage roads and trails adorn the property.

We are based at two very special inns in two charming towns. The
Wolfeboro Inn is located in the heart of Wolfeboro “the oldest summer
resort in New Hampshire”. On the other side of the lake is the bustling
town of Meredith, where we will enjoy the indulgent guest rooms and
sweeping views at the Adirondack-style Church Landing at Mills Falls.
Fine cuisine is enjoyed nightly at both inns.
