We begin our journey at the newly built Cedar House Sport Hotel in the
historic town of Truckee, California. You will enjoy every detail
of this wonderfully unique inn which attends to every detail from the
European-style linens to the sumptuous breakfasts. Other paths wind their way from the lake shore up to the summits of rocky peaks that surround this High Sierra jewel. Here we have so many choices, but our favorite is the trek to the top of Ellis Peak with its breathtaking views of both the Desolation Wilderness and Lake Tahoe and a spectacular lunch spot next to a high alpine lake. Our 5-day tour continues among the peaks of Squaw Valley, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn is our home for the next two nights. One of our trails leads right from the door of the inn to the top of Shirley Canyon and a stretch of the famous Pacific Crest Trail, the 2,000+ mile trail that leads from Mexico to Canada.
Trips begin with dinner on Sunday and end after hiking and lunch on Friday.
